Collaboration with NORIENT    ---   SNAPS TIMEZONES VISUALS

In 2020, I had the opportunity to begin a collaboration with Norient, following a recommendation from musician and composer Svetlana Maraš. Based in Bern and Zurich, Norient is a platform for 'the sound of the world,' focusing on contemporary music, journalism, cutting-edge research, multimedia projects, and events.
I have created digital collages and visuals for over 30 'Snaps'—a hybrid digital format that unites photography and quotes with sound pieces by international artists. Additionally, I designed the visual covers for the Timezones podcast series, which blends experimental journalism with sound compositions from around the globe.
It was also a great honor and a true pleasure to collaborate with designer Annegreth Schärli (gutundschoen) on the official poster for the 10th Norient Film Festival (NFF 2021). The poster’s concept reflected on the global lockdown and the silence of closed cinema theaters, while celebrating the inspiring artistic and musical spirit of the festival.

Norient: Timezones (Podcast Series)
digital collages and visuals

Since 2020, I have collaborated with the Norient platform on the visual identity for the Timezones podcast series. My role is to translate soundscapes, texts, and raw photographic materials that artists and editors send me into covers and social media visuals.

I approach collage as a musical score — using the rhythm of patterns and fragments to bring value to specific details and individuals. By sourcing from found/given materials, I create visual compositions that pulse in sync with the artists' narratives, transforming sonic data into layered digital imagery.

The TIMEZONES podcast series are in the form of experimental audio collages.  The series is co-initiated and co-produced by Norient and the Goethe-Institut. Edited by Suvani Suri, Thomas Burkhalter, Abhishek Mathur and Hannes Liechti.

The podcast series “TIMEZONES” delves into the world of artists, weaving their reflections into experimental audio collages that offer insights into their social and political realities. The artists come from various countries and tell their stories in diverse ways. The "TIMEZONES" podcasts play with formats and content: sometimes journalism, sometimes experimentation, documentary, ethnography, fiction, sound art, or improvisation. The English-language series, which has been running since 2020, attempts to develop new artistic forms of exchange, listening, and storytelling that transcend the boundaries of geography, time zones, genres, and practices.
