Šejma Fere is a visual artist, painter and printmaker, whose practice explores the mechanisms of contemporary visual culture, image economies, and the construction of meaning. In a state of
information overabundance, she acts as an "artist-archaeologist," collecting fragments from mass media, bureaucracy, and everyday life, transforming them into new narrative systems. Her work
spans ambient installations, drawing, and collage, often interwoven with themes of feminism, material ecology, and the poetics of reuse. Through manual labor and the deconstruction of
archives, Šejma examines the relationship between individual memory and collective spectacle, treating art as an open process of constant interpretation and resistance. She lives and works in
Belgrade, Serbia.
